Parents of schoolchildren and other members of the public are invited to participate in an Aug. 26 web chat to learn more about a plan to create a statewide system for evaluating the performance of teachers and administrators in all Michigan school districts.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about the proposal submitted in July to Gov. Rick Snyder, the Michigan Legislature and the State Board of Education by the Michigan Council for Educator Effectiveness (MCEE).
The Detroit Free Press will host the web chat, which will run from noon to 1 p.m. Free Press education reporter Lori Higgins will moderate the event. Details on how to join the chat will be forthcoming.
