Steve Cook: Teachers support bills for fair evaluations

For too long, there’s been the misconception that teachers resist the idea of being evaluated on their performance. That’s not true. What teachers want is a valid, consistent evaluation process performed by knowledgeable and trained administrators. They want their performance judged by attainable standards both at the state and local district level. They want a process supported by professional development opportunities that foster improvement in good quality education practice.
